We are personal trainers, group fitness instructors, membership salespeople, front desk staff, maintenance and cleaning staff, and all dedicated members of the fitness community who are invested are invested in the health and well-being of all people working in the fitness industry.

OUR UNION
Workers United represents 10,000 workers across Canada, and 100,000 more across the United States. Our members speak over 50 languages, live in communities both large and small, work for international corporations and small local businesses, and can be found in a wide range of industries, including: garment and apparel; plastics, auto parts and industrial manufacturing; transportation, warehousing, and distribution; retail; food services; hotels and hospitality; cleaning services; the fitness industry; and healthcare and social services. Our Fitness Workers United section of WUCC represents over 600 fitness professionals across parts of Ontario.

FITNESS WORKERS ORGANIZING WITH WORKERS UNITED IN THE UNITED STATES
Fitness Workers United was founded in Canada in 2016 when the personal trainers at Goodlife Fitness voted to unionize. Since then fitness workers at rock climbing gyms across the USA have joined or are in the process of joining Workers United and the Fitness Workers United family!
Touchstone Workers United
"Touchstone Workers United is a union for front desk staff, safety staff, route setters, janitorial, coaches, and fitness/yoga instructors at Touchstone Climbing Gyms. Under Workers United, we filed for an election for all five Southern California locations to achieve equity, empowerment, and safety in the workplace. We want a contract that guarantees long-term protections for ourselves and for our community. We love our climbers, the gyms, and the support we’ve received. Climb strong, union strong!"
Climbers United
Climbers United was formed in 2021 to represent workers at VITAL Climbing Gym's New York City locations. It now represents almost 150 workers in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and has been successful in bargaining an industry first contract. Climbers United positions itself at the forefront of a rapidly changing industry, with the goal of making sure workers aren't left behind.
Movement for Equal Footing
Movement for Equal Footing represents more than 100 front desk staff, instructors, and coaches at the Movement Gym in Crystal City, VA, US. Through Workers' United, we successfully established the first union by and for climbing gym employees in 2021 in order to fight for equal pay, secure longstanding benefits, and earn a voice at the table. Climbing is a fast growing industry and it is our mission to ensure that workers are at the center of that industry."
